If you've always wanted to try yoga, but didn't know where to begin, our Gentle Hatha Yoga for Active, Older Adults Class may be for you!



This course offers new students, or those wanting to return to yoga after a break, safe and gentle Hatha yoga instruction in a small group setting. The class is designed for active, older adults, but all are welcome. Pierce College, Fort Steilacoom, Health Education Center provides a light and spacious studio. The college offers Continuing Education credit for this course. Saturday mornings beginning at 8:30. Register on the Pierce College Website.


Practice Gentle Hatha Yoga 


This Silver Sneakers/Flex class includes chair and standing poses only.  For those adults who prefer to focus on developing balance and strength while seated or standing but prefer not to work on the floor, we designed a fun and challenging Hatha Yoga based class that will give you an understanding of yogic breathing, and poses while increasing overall fitness Silver Sneakers Members pay no fee for this class.  Others may register at the Main Office and pay a monthly rate. Fridays only at 10:30 AM.

 This Gentle Yoga course meets at the Fircrest Recreation Center each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9:00 AM. The class is designed for you  to  develop strength, improve balance, and increase flexibility while learning and practicing basic Hatha yoga poses. The class follows a typical Hatha format with relaxation and breathing, warm up, learning and practicing asanas, sun salutation, and closing with relaxation and meditation. No charge to Silver Sneakers Members. Monthly rate available for others. Register at the Main Office at 555 Contra Costa, Fircrest.
